An Escape room is a one-hour real-life adventure game that combines an entirely new way of story-telling with challenging puzzles and interactive adventures. In the game, participants are locked inside a room and are given 60 minutes to escape from the room by solving some interesting but brain-wracking puzzles.Currently, there are approximately six thousand escape rooms globally.Escape rooms are rapidly gaining popularity, and gamers are enjoying new and exciting experiences in places as far as England, Korea, and Thailand, and business is booming for the owners of escape room companies.A survey conducted from December 2018 to earlier this year dubbed The State of the Escape Room Industry Report 2018 revealed that escape room businesses are earning up to $4 Million a year. This margin is projected to shoot to $6 Million in 2019.THE GAME ROOMThe game room is exactly that. A cell-like room where the players are locked in together as a team. Each game usually has its own peculiar mission, and the game room is typically themed according to the mission that you have to complete in order to escap e the room. The missions could vary from escaping out of prison (think the TV show Prison Break!) to robbing a piece of art from a world-famous museum, or solving a crime scene. In most cases, you will be allowed to pick the mission you want to engage in.Like I mentioned, the escape room is a group activity, which means that you will need some other people with you, such as colleagues or friends. However, you can also show up alone and form a team with other people who have also come to play the game.Actually, this is a great way of meeting new people and making friends. Akos Gabosky of PanIQ Escape Room Franchise testifies that he has seen many people make life time friends in the escape room who were complete strangers at the start of the game.Once you step into the escape room, you are taken to another world whose theme matches your mission. This could be a prison cell with bars and your personal toilet and sink, a crime scene, a sinking submarine from which you need to escape, and so on.The theme of the room allows you to feel as if you have been transported to that place and are living in that reality.Once in the game room, a game guide will assist you to ensure you understand what the mission is, the rules of the game, and whatever clarifications you may need. You will most likely watch a video introduction (though different escape rooms have different practices) so as to better comprehend the mission.Once you are done watching the video, the countdown beings, and you have exactly sixty-minutes to solve the puzzle and escape the room. From this point, you and your friends have to find different clues to help you get out of the escape room.Even if you are unable to find all the clues and escape from the room on time, you will still have had fun with your friends or colleagues, and you can always give it another try some other time. Therefore, don’t put yourself under a lot of pressure. You should treat it as a learning experience and an opportunity to have fu n.Now you know what escape rooms are, you probably can’t wait to know the strategies on how to beat an escape room.Fortunately, we did the research for you, tested out different strategies in several escape rooms of varying difficulty and came up with ten golden rules that will ensure you solve the puzzles, work with your teammates and make the escape on time.Let’s dive in.STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU BEAT THE ESCAPE ROOMKnow How Escape Rooms are Designed â€" Rules, Tricks, Type of RoomsWhile escape rooms are created by different designers, most of them sort of have the same principle and rules. However, there are certain rooms that are mainly made to trick experienced gamers, but if this is the case, your game guide will warn you.Game guides are the people who welcome you to the escape room, give you the rules of the game and meet you once you have escaped to congratulate you.Pay attention to your guide â€" they can offer tips that will be crucial in helping you escape from the room.A rming yourself with this knowledge will lessen the time you spend in the escape room. The game guides will also be watching you through the cameras installed in the room. Most escape rooms utilize the ‘single lock, single-use’ technique meaning that once you have found a clue, you won’t need to use it again for the rest of the game.In addition, in most of the games, says Michal Burger, winner of the 2019 Red Bull Global Championships, you won’t be required to do tasks that take too much time, such as reading sixty pages of a book.Remember, it’s a one-hour game, so you will be given tasks that you can complete within the countdown. It is critical to listen to your game guide in order to familiarize yourself with the escape room. There could be items that you are not allowed to come in contact with in the room.Going against these instructions might cause chaos and some devices may not work, leaving you in the place confused and locked in.Choose Your Group and Leader WiselyThe fi rst thing you need to do before you play the game is to choose your teammates.A functional group consists of about four to six people, even though some escape rooms will allow up to eight or ten people.Your team members are your greatest resource for getting out of the room.Their attitude, skills, energy and capacity to work together will determine whether you will successfully escape. They will also influence the experience you have while playing the game and completing your mission.Red Bull Escape Game designer Dr. Scott Nicholson advises that diversity is the greatest strength when choosing a team.Ensure that the abilities and skills of your team members are different, ranging from the creative to the analytical. This will help bring different insights into the escape room. Remember, it’s not the smartest brains that escape in time. The genius lies in the synergy of the team.Apart from diversity, you need to choose people that you are comfortable with and who you can have fun wi th. This will ease communication within the group. The divide and conquer approach is very important when it comes to solving the escape room puzzle. A common rule of thumb is to section the escape room and assign each to a group member. For example, if your team is composed of six people, divide the room into six sections that each member will be responsible for.Another important thing you need to do is to choose your group leader or project manager. The project manager will not be involved in finding clues.Their job is to gather the information and clues that other team members have and consolidate them so as to ease the process.Tip: Don’t worry if you do not have friends to bring to the game. Once in the escape room, you will find people like you who are excited to experience the game room with total strangers who might end up being your lifetime escape buddies.Carefully Watch the Intro VideoThe escape room has stories and themes that help you immerse into your mission.Listen to the story that you are told in the introduction. Don’t start solving clues even without getting acquainted with the mission.Escape room pro Michelle Bassaly says that you could easily get some clues by watching the video keenly. The video will inform you about your mission and help you get settled in this new environment. It will also state the various tasks you need to perform in order to escape the room. This does not mean that you should not look around the room and take in the situation during the video.Actually, it can help jog your brain and get you more acquainted with the room.Explore the Room and Look Out for Standard CodesOnce the countdown begins, disperse your team around the room and thoroughly begin checking for your clues. Open up anything you can find in the room and look.Check under tables, chairs, rugs, and everything that is not permanent in the room. Ferret through the books placed on the shelves, and closely check the items on the wall.Check out for bold colors, simple shapes, display style numbers and other types of codes you may be familiar with.Nevertheless, the game designers do not assume that you have any specialized know-how.For instance, if your clue is in braille, you don’t have to have memorized the entire braille alphabet to discover the key.Your game guide will assist you throughout the adventure by giving you relevant clues. All you need is to detect the code type in use which will help identify other clues within the escape room.Rotate Your TeamA new perspective and a fresh pair of eyes might be helpful, so assign new sections to your team every now and then.Do not be afraid to delegate.Rotating your group members will help identify clues that another person might have missed.Rotating will also ensure that your team keeps energized because staring at one place for too long can cause boredom and fatigue, not to mention hopelessness. “You do not want to get this game boring,” warns Game Guides of the International champion ships for the Red Bull Escape game.Let the Entire Team Know What You FindVerbalize the clues that you find so that your team members know what has already been found. Yell out if possible and let the team leader hear you so that he or she can record what you have discovered.Communicating is also vital because your clue might be connected with another that your teammate is looking for. The clues are linked because they are the secret to completing the puzzle. When you verbalize, you will see the significance of the other items in the room. Speaking with your team members will help you work together with your team in beating the escape room.Organize the Clues and Have a Discard AreaEscape Room Game Host Kristofer Riffel says that organization is the key to beat the escape room. He advises teams to gather all objects found in their own location and have a discard area for the ones you do not need anymore. It is easy for players to forget the clues that they have already found as there is a lot of items around the room. Having a discard area prevents you from wasting time pursuing clues that are no longer useful.Ask for CluesShould you ask for a clues? And if yes, when should you ask for one? Teams usually deal with this dilemma while in the escape room. There is a tendency by pros to decline using their hints because they do not want to seem stupid.Game guides warns against the bravado of teams of failing to ask for clues. This is why your game guides are there. Listen to them. They know everything about the game. It’s meant to be exciting rather than frustrating. The room can get frustrating when you have been standing for ten minutes and haven’t solved one clue. If you are stuck for more than five minutes, it might be time to ask for a clue. Most escape rooms will give you up to three clues, so you should use them so that you can move on and beat the countdown.Time is CriticalAn hour can go very fast in an escape room, and you might be surprised that the time is almost over while you are nowhere near completing the mission. Therefore it is very important to keep an eye on the clock.Your team leader should act as the time keeper because they are not looking for clues. The time keeper will help you know when the time is right to ask for a clue. They will also know when to rotate the team and when the countdown is done.As most escape rooms do not allow you to enter with a phone in the game, we recommend you wear a wristwatch or carry a manual timer. And lastly,Remain FocusedThe escape room can drain most of your mental energy and you might become frustrated when you do not get a clue or key. The timer could also make you feel like you are spinning out of control. Ignore the urge to quit or leave the room.Instead, work with your teammates and try some breathing exercises so as to remain calm. If you do not find a clue somewhere, move on and look elsewhere.CRITICAL THINGS TO REMEMBER:Plan AheadEscape rooms are mentally challenging. Therefore, you ne ed to organize your team beforehand. You can even look for online escape rooms and practice so that you can be familiar with the game before you get into the actual adventure.Ensure you get there on time so that your energy is not spent on the road rather than the game. You will also psyche your team if you show that the game is important to you.Show up fifteen minutes before the game and be ready to conquer! Eat something to get you energized for the game.Play SoberOne of the biggest mistake a player can make is coming into the escape room drunk. You might be tempted to drown a few shots of your favorite drink but this will only make your game chaotic and annoying, as well as making your time in the room longer. You need to be active during the game and alcohol only makes you slower, and you will end up letting your team down.Dress ComfortablyOur game experts advise you to choose light and comfortable clothes. While in the game, you will be required to do tasks that involve moving you r body. These including bending over and climbing up chairs and tables.Something as simple as sweats and t-shirts will be enough to take to the game as well as low, comfortable shoes that are easy to move in.Communicate EffectivelyCommunication is a must-do for teams. Being able to listen to each other’s opinions and telling each other the clues you find will help you complete the game faster. Most guides agree that groups who talk and listen to each other have the highest chances of beating the escape room.Let Everyone ParticipateThere are some people who take over the room and do not allow their teammates to give opinions and suggestions on how to find clues. These people often diminish the energy of their teams. They ruin the chance of escaping in time by thinking that they are better equipped than the rest. Do not be that person! Allow your team members to participate.Have a Positive AttitudeA faint heart is the surest way to lose the game. It is crucial to the completion of the mission and to your team if you come in with a confident spirit. However, take care not to be over-confident as this can ruin your team’s energy. If you get stuck along the way, embrace it and work with your team to solve it. Your ultimate goal should be to have fun.Have FunYou are not there to accomplish some big mission that will save the world. You are just here to enjoy the game with those closest to you. Escape rooms are meant to be entertaining.Resist the urge to get personal and distressed. Immerse yourself completely and don’t think about the countdown too much.Remember, even if you are unable to beat the countdown, the world will not collapse around you.Practice! Practice!Practice makes perfect! If you like escape rooms, do not let that bad first time deter you from playing. It can be difficult at first, but once you have done it several times, you will find that it’s exciting and challenging but not impossible.WRAPPING UPOnce you have completed your mission, your game g uides and host will be there to congratulate you and clarify any questions you might have about the game. They will also inform you of any other clues that you might have missed. Most likely, your game host will offer to take a team photo for your memories.Depending on the company, you may be offered coffee and get a chance to talk to the game guides. If you have an amazing experience, be sure to review your game host online to promote them.Game guides usually advise players to move on to other missions once they have completed one rather than replaying it.While you might become a master at that particular theme, you will be denying yourself of other more exciting and new adventures.Armed with these tips, you can now look forward to an escape room sessions with your friends and colleagues.Remember that beating the countdown is dependent on your creativity, analytical skills, team work, communication, and a positive attitude throughout the game.

The Adventures of Hucklberry Finn Satire Free Essays

The author, Mark Twain, uses satire against religion, government, peoples ignorance, and society in general. Throughout the novel, we meet people whose live were ruined by alcoholism. Huck’s father is a drunken, abusive father and Twain satirizes the consumption of alcohol and the effects it has on people. We will write a custom essay sample on The Adventures of Hucklberry Finn Satire or any similar topic only for you Order Now Huck quotes, â€Å"Pap he hadn’t been seen for more than a year, and that was comfortable for me; I didn’t want to see him no more.He used to always whale me when he was sober and could get his hands on me†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (13) Twain is satirizing drunken adults and what it does to their kids and the people surrounding them. Huck’s father also had opinions of his own. â€Å"Oh yes this is a wonderful govment, wonderful. Why looky here, there was a free nigger there from Ohio. .. † (35) Mark Twain quotes Pap to satirize both the government and racism. Pap represents the close-minded, southern whites and how they felt about free blacks. He mocks how the government has outlawed slavery in the northern states and how the southern states couldn’t do anything about it. Slavery was another issue that Twain touched on. He enters the bitter realm of social satire and their beliefs on the issue of free slaves, almost to the point where it was unethical. A moment captured in chapter 16 describes when Huck realized how serious the consequence of the situation was. â€Å"Well what’s the use of learning to do right when it’s troublesome to do right and it ain’t no trouble to do wrong, and the wages is just the same? (116) He feels guilty for helping Jim to freedom, but realizes that if he turned Jim in, he would feel just the same. He mocks the society for believing that it was so evil to help slaves to freedom. After the event with the King and the Duke with the Wilks, Huck is glad to see Jim â€Å"Of course when they got to snoring we had a long gabble, and I told Jim everything† (188). Twain shows that Jim should have a better life than to be separated from his wife and children he loves, and to be forced to work for people who humiliate him.Through his use of satire, Twain illustrates the major themes of the novel. People at that time treated servants terribly. Huck himself was racist when Miss Watson asks if anybody got hurt and Huck replies â€Å"No ma’am just a nigger† (34). Finally, the use of racist terminology throughout the book showed how Jim and slaves were treated. The people that they come in contact see nothing more than a servant of Jim. When Tom has a theory as to the meaning of the word ransomed without any doubts, all of the boys agree with this meaning of the word. But per’aps if we keep them till they’re ransomed, it means that we keep them till they’re dead†. (12) In this segment of the novel, Twain uses satire to demonstrate that even though something may be truly wrong, if civilization or society adopts it to be true, then it is believed. Religion is one of the key victims of Twain’s satire throughout the novel. This satire is no more apparent then when Huck’s guardian, the Widow Douglas, preaches to him about Moses.Huck didn’t think very much of her lecture â€Å"Here she was a-bothering about Moses, which was no kin to her, and no use to anybody, being gone, you see†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (3) Twain uses Huck to exhibit his objection to the faith that civilized society places towards religion. During Huck and Jim’s journey, they encounter two men who refer to themselves as the Duke and the King. These characters make their living by swindling people out of their money. When they are eventually caught, they pay for their sins by being tarred and feathered.Huck expresses his thoughts on the subject by saying; it was a dreadful thing to see. â€Å"Human beings can be awful cruel to one another†. (294) through this event, Twain shows that crooks and criminals aren’t the only ones that can be cruel. The crowd that considers themselves to be civilized and opposing cruel acts when actually they commit such acts themselves. The chapters on the Royal Nonesuch are the climax of satire in this story. First Twain presents Hamlet’s soliloquy, which even in its first lines, â€Å"To be, or not to be; that is the bare bodkin/ that makes calamity of so long life†¦ (pg. 132), clearly shows his readership that though the con-men and townspeople know enough to have heard of Shakespeare and even recognize some lines, , for in reality they are ignorant of high society. Twain uses satire to express ignorance in society when Tom Sawyer says â€Å"Because it ain’t in the books so that’s why† (9). This shows that people believe everything they read in books when books are most of the time opinionated. Twain fills Huckleberry Finn with satire examples throughout the story. Civil Defense, Glory psychonauts the real hero, who can issue a form-fitting tights, raincoats and red underpants, around us, in actual fact, not so little. Thats not a lot of talk about them, so as not to belittle the heroic ideal. That book Iris Johansson on Iris Johansson came Terevinf in a small publishing house. About Iris I heard vaguely somewhere, but remember at once. I was always interested in what something superficial, but constant, the level of people with mental disabilities. Iris Johansson is one of the leading specialists in the field of childrens autism. And first of all because she herself was an autistic child. The book describes in detail the Iris their childhood and adolescence. First, in the first person, she felt, experienced and perceived the world around us. Then just about all the same things as if from the outside, analyzing and noticing the important points. And the most interesting thing is, of course, describe the inside. World, which describes Iris strikes. So usually describe hallucinations that come to a person under the influence of LSD, but that baby not be suspected of partiality for pharmacy. And then the question you look on the other hand, that same LSD gives a person than imposed hallucination, not a chimera, but, indeed, moves its settings to a different level of perception that has the same right to exist, as well as our objective reality . Words, sounds, human warmth all this in the world Iris has clear visual images. People say, and with the noise of the colored images appear three-dimensional words spoken, things are aura, and not only things, but concepts. And these aura Iris can penetrate, contact them by reading the information, understanding what it is through sensual and intellectual, not familiar to us abstract intellectual experience. Iris herself is in a sort of cocoon pearl safe personal space invasion which immediately leads to a flash-hysterics. Iris describes in detail the logic of their actions. So it hurts others, in order to trigger strong emotions and cries that her perception of visualization and issues and take her. In the viewed from the side, Iris says no less interesting things about how she was taught to adapt to the normal world. About how existed abstract concepts for it (the validity, time, etc., etc.) and the like have to comprehend all clear by performing a plurality of algorithms. My mother always thought I was the most rude person in the world, and I think thats true. I do not see any information about the rules of behavior, until I became quite large and it is not settled in my mind. [] I have no such common sense, which tells me, and I do not know where to get it. For me, whats going on, are what it is. If the person then comes up with a system of classification, the event on the basis of this classification, can be estimated as fair or unfair, but it is only relevant when there is a classification. Iris and now uses a diary, in which all is written exactly in advance. This, as noted by Ms. Johansson, unnerving some of her friends, because, of course, it is unpleasant to be a frie nd, but in the schedule, but otherwise it can not. If the event is not described and indicated that it will happen in the future so it does not exist. So no surprises or spontaneous meetings. Of course, there are unpleasant things that think, transferring the experience of Iris on the Russian realities. Firstly, the ratio that gets the girl when the teacher worked with her extra hours that she passed the required minimum school (though there were also those who just thought the girl silly and obnoxious). Secondly, our lack of a sufficient number of centers working with children-outs. (Fortunately, in recent years quietly, very gradually, but this situation is improving.) In addition to the main story in the book, there are very interesting descriptions of the usual Swedish village life of the 20th century, where Iris has grown. The way the village is not quite developed rapidly, keeping up with the city, but the remaining agricultural rather than industrial. And interesting characters from her life, like her father intuitively understand what was wrong with his daughter and himself, on the move, invented successful methods of its teaching, joining with her in contact (and when I saw in the book of his photos, then do not even I surprised with the picture looked very good and pretty face). Or grandmother Emma, who was with the granddaughter of contact is not a verbal way, and somehow quite naturally This book, as special childhood particularly strong gives the feel what kind of universe -. People . There is a truth in the book and disadvantages. Despite the small volume (150 pages) is necessary to read in doses, because It says its not that sometimes tedious, but detailed, with many repetitions, monotonous narrative is not very easy to grasp. Just as it seemed to me, Iris is not so much describes your sensory experience of an autistic condition, too much concentrate on striking and intriguing visual images. However, surely this is quite an interesting book to help as the chink, look wherever we have practically no chance to look. So I strongly advise Read books Iris Johansson: .

5 Easy Ways You Can Avoid Job Burnout

5 Easy Ways You Can Avoid Job Burnout What are some signs job burnout is sneaking up behind you? They might not be what you’d expect†¦ and they may not even happen at work. If you’re sleeping more than usual on weekends, feeling extra distracted or forgetful when it comes to everyday tasks, snapping at family and friends, or fantasizing about ditching your life for a quiet beach somewhere, you might be coming close to your breaking point at work. After all, you probably spend most of your week in the workplace; it makes sense that any pressure you feel would start bleeding into other parts of your life as well. Once you’ve realized that you’re in the danger zone, there are small actions you can take before you explode.1. Put your calendar on a diet. Are you booked solid for the next five work days, breakfast to dinner? Are all of those meetings or appointments truly essential this week? Look at your work calendar for the next month. Try to find obligations you can move out a week or two, o r even skip altogether. Whenever possible, slip in some blocks of time for yourself, even if it’s just an hour or two to clear your head and work on specific projects without interruption. When someone sends you a new meeting invite, ask yourself, â€Å"Is this really necessary? Could a quick phone call or email resolve this instead?†2. Restructure your to-do list.Time to take a hard look at what you do every day. How many of those tasks are absolutely necessary? How many are directly related to your work goals? What would happen if you changed some weekly tasks to every two weeks? Try to create some flexibility for yourself so that you have time for absolutely essential tasks. It’s okay to say no to new requests and meetings if they would push you over the edge. Negotiate with your colleagues as necessary: â€Å"I don’t have the bandwidth to handle this on Monday, but how about we revisit this on Thursday afternoon?†3. Speak up.Be honest with your manager if you’re feeling crunched. Maybe he or she can help you come up with a game plan for easing your immediate workload or help you prioritize tasks. It’s not a sign of weakness to ask for help- it’s a sign that you’re seizing control of your work life and reorganizing before things start to slip too much. It’s so much better to stop and honestly re-evaluate early on, before deadlines have been missed or you’ve put in much less effort than you should have.]4. Treat Yourself.Maybe don’t run out and buy that gold Rolex (unless your budget allows for that, in which case go for it), but find small ways to reward yourself and distract your brain from what’s been going on at work. Have you been meaning to see that new movie before it leaves theaters? Take a night off and go†¦ and don’t forget the popcorn. Feel three weeks of tension and poor sleep building up in your shoulders? Get a massage or take that yoga class y ou’ve been skipping because you’re so busy.via [giphy.com]It doesn’t have to be a physical or costly treat- it can be as simple as scheduling time with family or friends to decompress. Laughter may not beat antibiotics when it comes to medicine, but it can work wonders for a frazzled state of mind.5. Get out of town.It can be so easy to get caught in the cycle of not taking vacation or personal days because things are too busy at work. In that mindset you may feel like you need to be there to get everything done, and then you can’t leave until the timing is right.Sad secret: the timing will probably never be perfect. In most jobs, there’s never going to be a magic lull where everything will stand still for a few days. So pick a time to take off, and commit to it. Figure out what you can reschedule while you’re out, and work with your colleagues to get coverage for the things you can’t budge. Then flee to that beach/cabin/backyard loun ge chair- and instead of running away permanently, come back refreshed and ready to start over.I promise you that your workplace will survive without you during your brief absence, and your coworkers be jazzed to have a renewed, enthusiastic colleague back on Monday morning. Some TLC is absolutely essential to keeping your work self sane and engaged. If you let stress get the best of you, you run the risk of damaging your professional life and even your personal life. It’s just not worth the risk, when you can take small (but effective!) steps to stop overwhelm before it happens.

Acing your behavioral job interview

Acing your behavioral job interview If you’ve been on the job hunt for a while, you’ve probably been exposed to a wide variety of interview styles and scenarios, all designed to try and get the most accurate reflection of what you’d be like as a potential employee and gauge your value if hired. And chances are you’ve been exposed to- in one form or another- a type of approach known as the behavioral interview. So, what exactly is a behavioral interview, and how does it differ from other types of interviewing approaches? True to its name, a behavioral interview aims to find out how you responded to different types of work situations in the past. Instead of asking you about yourself, interviewers will ask how you tackled specific scenarios, both stressful and not. The point is to see if your personality and skillset within a work environment matches who they hope to hire for their open position. The truth is, a behavioral interview will look and feel much like any other traditional interview yo u’ve been on, with the key difference being the types of questions you’ll be asked during the process.A recent post on The Balance highlights some of the typical questions you might encounter while on a behavioral interview:â€Å"Behavioral interview questions will be more pointed, more probing and more specific than traditional interview questions:Give an example of an occasion when you used logic to solve a problem.Give an example of a goal you reached and tell me how you achieved it.Describe a decision you made that was unpopular and how you handled implementing it.Have you gone above and beyond the call of duty? If so, how? What do you do when your schedule is interrupted? Give an example of how you handle it.Have you had to convince a team to work on a project they weren’t thrilled about? How did you do it?Have you handled a difficult situation with a co-worker? How?Tell me about how you worked effectively under pressure.Follow-up questions will also be det ailed. You may be asked what you did, what you said, how you reacted or how you felt during the situation you shared with the hiring manager.†So, now that you have a good handle on what a behavioral interview is and how to recognize when you’re in the middle of one, what’s the best way to approach and handle it?The first step is to realize that you won’t know when you’re on a behavioral interview until you’re in the middle of one- unless you can predict the future, you won’t be alerted in advance to the types of questions you’ll be asked. Therefore, when prepping for an interview you should prep for every possible scenario, question, and contingency. That said, there are some proven strategies for effectively tackling behavioral questions and setting yourself up for a successful interview. Consider the following tips to make a strong and lasting impression on your next interview.Do your homework. When preparing for an interview- w hether behavioral or traditional or something else altogether- make sure you thoroughly research the company and job description provided and search for helpful cues regarding things the company may value and the attributes they are likely looking for in an ideal candidate. Try and get a good sense of what the company’s culture and mission is- all of these elements will help you gauge what sorts of questions you might encounter and the sorts of answers hiring managers and company representatives will likely be looking for. What types of problems normally come up in the industry you hope to join? How have you handled situations in the past in an impressive way in order to tackle these problems? How do your actions and reactions to work issues in the past show that you are well-suited for the open position? Have these answers ready to go.Be prepared to tell your story. When you’re in a behavioral interview, be prepared to â€Å"tell your story†- these should be hone st and favorable expressions of how past experiences in your life have shaped your ways of thinking and modes of behavior, making you the capable and effective professional you are today. According to Ladders, your stories should be specific, and should always include the following three parts: a description of a specific, real-life situation or challenge you encountered, a description of the specific tasks and actions you took to overcome that challenge, and a  summary of the results of those actions. If handled correctly, including stories in your responses that demonstrate instances of how you successfully solved problems or displayed exemplary behavior will always make you look good.Address past behaviors in an orderly way.The Balance advocates using the following four-step technique for answering questions about past behaviors at work, which they refer to as the STAR interview response technique:Situation.  Describe the situation or set the scene. Explain the place you were working for or the task you were given. Paint a clear picture of what went on so you can then elaborate on how your stellar skills saved the day.Task.  Describe the issue or problem you were confronted with. Make this as clear as possible- don’t get too bogged down in details. Prepare 1-2 sentences to explain the task at hand.Action.  Describe the action you took to intervene in the situation or solve the problem. This should introduce the key asset you would like to illustrate. Here is where you pull key words from the job posting. What skills are the hiring manager looking for? How you can demonstrate that you possess those skills in your answer? Results.  Describe the results  your action generated. Explain how you helped solve the problem or improve the company in some way.Okay job hunters, take advantage of the strategies and tips provided here and you’ll be ready to handle even the toughest behavioral interview that you might come across. The key, as it is most of the time with interviews, is to enter prepared and confident. Now that you know what to expect, start prepping!

Summary - Essay Example Swift explains that a year old and healthy child provides the most nourishing and delicious meal (2). Therefore, she proposes that the public should reserve 20,000 children and sell the remaining 100,000 to the rich people, who would use them for food. Swift believes that the proposal will reduce the number of children who present many challenges to the country. It will also enable the poorer tenants to afford the basic needs, thus reducing their distress. The proposal will increase the nations’ stock, allowing people to produce and use their own goods in order to ensure circulation of money within the country (Swift 4). In addition to earning eight shillings sterling every year, it will also relieve their parents the task of caring for their children. Swift argues that the scheme will induce marriage, and mothers will care and tender their children in a good manner because they will be sure of making profits, rather than incurring expenses. Questions based on evolution and definitions Essay

Questions based on evolution and definitions - Essay Example Batesian mimicry which is a natural selection that favors the non-poisonous butterflies due to their similarity in their color with the poisonous butterflies is an example of a negative frequency-dependent. Positive frequency-dependency is seen in morph butterflies that are within the same species but have a different color pattern. Linkage disequilibrium arises when the genotype of at two loci is independent of each other and is as a result of Mutation, Random drift and Gene flow. It can be maintained by inducing mutation, random drift or gene flow in a generation. Deterministic forces are referred to as linear pressures due to their tendency to of pushing alleles frequencies in one direction which is either up , down or towards the middle. Important forces that take place in such a situation include selection, mutation, gene flow, meiotic drive and nonrandom mating. However, stochastic evolutionary force is the genetic drift that takes place due to random sampling of individuals and genes in small populations. Both are important because they lead to evolution as they cause changes in the genetic makeup of any population. The variance of reproductive success is usually higher among males than the females because the male sperm runs faster than the female, but dies faster than the female. The effect of this is more females in the society as a result of higher chances of having a female offspring. In situations when nonrandom processes overwhelm the random processes, it leads to low levels of variation which cannot be reconstructed over ecological time scales. Moreover, variation can arise from mutation and recombination. Since selection can remove variations from a population, genetic drift takes place. Antagonistic pleiotropy is a situation whereby the one gene controls foe more than one trait where at least a single of these traits

All most all the governments around the world have concerned about green marketing activities that they have attempted to regulate them. For example, in the United States (US) the Federal Trade Commission and the National Association of Attorneys-General have developed extensive documents examining green marketing. There has been little attempt to academically examine environmental or green marketing. It introduces the terms and concepts of green marketing, briefly discuss why going green is important and also examine some of the reason that organizations are adopting a green marketing philosophy. It also focuses some of the problems with green marketing. It identifies the key to successful green marketing:  § Credibility  § Publicize stories of the companys and employees green initiatives.  § Enter environmental awards programs to profile environmental credentials to customers and stakeholders.  § Never overstate environmental claims or establish unrealistic expectations. It also tells about Why Are Firms Using Green Marketing  § Organizations perceive environmental marketing to be an opportunity that can be used to achieve its objectives  § Organizations believe they have a moral obligation to be more socially responsible  § Governmental bodies are forcing firms to become more responsible  § Competitors environmental activities pressure firms to change their environmental marketing  § activities  § Cost factors associated with waste disposal, or reductions in material usage forces firms to modify their behavior This report stresses upon the effect of green marketing on the consumers. Green marketing isnt just a catchphrase; its a marketing strategy that can help you get more customers and make more money. But only if you do it right. OBJECTIVE: 1)To determine whether Indian consumers are ready for Green Marketing 2) To determine whether Price has effect on purchase of green products 3) To determine whether environment consciousness has effect on purchase of green products 4) To determine whether Availability has effect on the purchase of green products 5) To determine whether Awareness has an effect on Purchase of green products RESEARCH METHDOLOGY Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It may be understood as a science of studying how research is done scientifically. In it we study the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in studying his research problem along with the logic behind them. It is necessary for the researcher to know not only the research methods/techniques but also the methodology. Researchers not only need to know how to develop certain indices or tests, how to calculate the mean, the mode, the median or the standard deviation, how to apply particular research techniques, but they also need to know which of these methods or techniques, are relevant and which are not, and what would they mean and indicate and why. Researchers also need to understand the assumptions underlying various techniques and they need to know the criteria by which they can decide that certain techniques and procedures will be applicable to certain problems and others will not. Thus, when we talk of research methodology we not only talk of the research methods but also consider the logic behind the methods we use in the context of our research study and explain why we are using a particular method or technique and why we are not using others. INTRODUCTION According to the American Marketing Association [1],green marketing is the marketing of products that are presumed to be environmentally safe. Thus green marketing incorporates a broad range of activities, including * Product modification, * Changes to the production process, * Packaging changes, as well as * Modifying advertising. Yet defining green marketing is not a simple task where several meanings intersect and contradict each other; an example of this will be the existence of varying social, environmental and retail definitions attached to this term. Other similar terms used are Environmental Marketing and Ecological Marketing. The legal implications of marketing claims call for caution. Misleading or overstated claims can lead to regulatory or civil challenges. In the USA, the Federal Trade Commission provides some guidance on environmental marketing claims. The term green marketing [2] came into prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The American Marketing Association (AMA) held the first workshop on Ecological Marketing in 1975. The proceedings of this workshop resulted in one of the first books on green marketing entitled Ecological Marketing Thus green marketing incorporates a broad range of activities, including product modification, changes to the production process, packaging changes, as well as modifying advertising. My definition which encompasses all major components of other definitions is: Green or Environmental Marketing consists of all activities designed to generate and facilitate any exchanges intended to satisfy human needs or wants, such that the satisfaction of these needs and wants occurs, with minimal detrimental impact on the natural environment. This definition incorporates much of the traditional components of the marketing definition that is All activities designed to generate and facilitate any exchanges intended to satisfy human needs or wants. So, in simple terms Green marketing refers to the process of selling products and/or services based on their environmental benefits. Such a product or service may be environmentally friendly in itself or produced and/or packaged in an environmentally friendly way. The obvious assumption of green marketing is that potential consumers will view a product or services greenness as a benefit and base their buying decision accordingly. The not-so-obvious assumption of green marketing is that consumers will be willing to pay more for green products than they would for a less-green comparable alternative product -an assumption that has not been proven conclusively, specially the mild effect which it had had on consumers has washed away by the present recession (2008-09) only. Green marketers though argue that it is a way to use the environmental benefits of a product or service to promote sales. Many consumers will choose products that do not damage the environment over less environmentally friendly products, even if they cost more. With green marketing, advertisers focus on environmental benefits to sell products such as biodegradable diapers, energy-efficient light bulbs, and environmentally safe detergents. People buy billions of dollars worth of goods and services every year—many of which harm the environment in the way they are harvested, made, or used. Environmentalists support green marketing to encourage people to use environmentally preferable alternatives, and to offer incentives to manufacturers that develop more environmentally beneficial products. IMPORTANCE OF GREEN MARKETING Man has limited resources on the earth [3], with which she/he must attempt to provide for the worlds unlimited wants. There is extensive debate as to whether the earth is a resource at mans disposal. In market societies where there is freedom of choice, it has generally been accepted that individuals and organizations have the right to attempt to have their wants satisfied. As firms face limited natural resources, they must develop new or alternative ways of satisfying these unlimited wants. Ultimately green marketing looks at how marketing activities utilize these limited resources, while satisfying consumers wants, both of individuals and industry, as well as achieving the selling organizations objectives. When looking through the literature there are several suggested reasons for firms increased use of Green Marketing. Five possible reasons cited are: †¢ Organizations perceive environmental marketing to be an opportunity that can be used to achieve its objectives †¢ Organizations believe they have a moral obligation to be more socially responsible †¢ Governmental bodies are forcing firms to become more responsible †¢ Competitors environmental activities pressure firms to change their environmental marketing activities †¢ Cost factors associated with waste disposal, or reductions in material usage forces firms to modify their behavior †¢ Opportunities GOALS OF GREEN MARKETING  · Eliminate the concept of waste.  · Reinvent the concept of product.  · Make prices reflect actual and environmental costs.  · Make environmentalism profitable.  · Bringing out product modifications.  · Changing in production processes.  · Packaging changes.  · Modifying advertising. NEED OF GREEN MARKETING: AN ANTHROPOLOGICAL VIEW Issues like Global warming [3] and depletion of ozone umbrella are the main for the healthy survival. Every person rich or poor would be interested in quality life with full of health and vigor and so would the corporate class. Financial gain and economic profit is the main aim of any corporate business. But harm to environment cost by sustain business across the globe is realized now though off late. This sense is building corporate citizenship in the business class. So green marketing by the business class is still in the selfish anthological perspective of long term sustainable business and to please the consumer and obtain the sanction license by the governing body. Industries in Asian countries are catching the need of green marketing from the developed countries but still there is a wide gap between their understanding and implementation. CHALLENGES IN GREEN MARKETING Ø NEED FOR STANDARDIZATION It is found that only 5% of the marketing messages from â€Å"Green† campaigns are entirely true and there is a lack of standardization to authenticate these claims. There is no standardization to authenticate these claims. There is no standardization currently in place to certify a product as organic. Unless some regulatory bodies are involved in providing the certifications there will not be any verifiable means. A standard quality control board needs to be in place for such labeling and licensing. Ø NEW CONCEPT Indian literate and urban consumer is getting more aware about the merits of Green products. But it is still a new concept for the masses. The consumer needs to be educated and made aware of the environmental threats. The new green movements need to reach the masses and that will take a lot of time and effort. By Indias ayurvedic heritage, Indian consumers do appreciate the importance of using natural and herbal beauty products. Indian consumer is exposed to healthy living lifestyles such as yoga and natural food consumption. In those aspects the consumer is already aware and will be inclined to accept the green products. Ø PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE The investors and corporate need to view the environment as a major long-term investment opportunity, the marketers need to look at the long-term benefits from this new green movement. It will require a lot of patience and no immediate results. Since it is a new concept and idea, it will have its own acceptance period. Ø AVOIDING GREEN MYOPIA The first rule of green marketing is focusing on customer benefits i.e. the primary reason why consumers buy certain products in the first place. Do this right, and motivate consumers to switch brands or even pay a premium for the greener alternative. It is not going to help if product is developed which is absolutely green in various aspects but does not pass the customer satisfaction criteria. This will lead to green myopia. Also if the green products are priced very high then again it will loose its market acceptability. BENEFITS OF GREEN MARKETING Todays consumers are becoming more and more conscious about the environment and are also becoming socially responsible. Therefore, more companies are responsible to consumers aspirations for environmentally less damaging or neutral products. Many companies want to have an early mover advantage as they have to eventually move towards becoming green. Some of the advantages of green marketing are: †¢It ensures sustained long term growth along with profitability. †¢ It saves money in the long run, though initially the cost is more. †¢ It helps the companies market their products and services keeping the environment aspects in mind. It helps in accessing the new markets and enjoying the competitive advantage. †¢ Most of the employees also feel proud and responsible to be working for an environmentally responsible company. GREEN MARKETING MIX PRODUCT Entrepreneurs [5] wanting to exploit emerging green markets either: Identify customers environmental needs and develop products to address these needs or will develop environmentally responsible products to have less impact than competitors. The increasingly wide variety of products on the market that support sustainable developments are: †¢ Products made from recycled goods, such as Quick N Tuff housing materials made from recycled broccoli boxes. †¢ Products that can be recycled or reused. †¢ Efficient products, which save water, energy or gasoline, save money and reduce environmental impact. †¢ Products with environmentally responsible packaging, McDonalds, for example, changed their packaging from polystyrene clamshells to paper. †¢ Products with green labels, as long as they offer substantiation. †¢ Certified products, which meet or exceed environmentally responsible criteria. †¢ Organic products-many customers are prepared to pay a premium for organic products, which offer promise of quality. Organic butchers, for example, promote the added qualities such as taste and tenderness. †¢ A service that rents or loans products-toy libraries. Whatever the product or service, it is vital to ensure that products meet or exceed the quality expectation of customers and is thoroughly tested. PRICE Pricing is the critical element of the marketing mix. Most customers will only be prepared to pay a premium if there is a perception of additional product value. This value may be improved performance, function, design, visual appeal or taste. Environmental benefits will be often be the deciding factor between products of equal value or quality. Environmentally responsible products, however are often less expensive when product life cycle coast are taken into consideration, for example fuel-efficient vehicles, water efficient printing and non-hazardous products. PLACE The choice of where and when to make products available will have significant impact on the customers you attract. Very few customers go out of their way to buy green products merely for the sake of it. Marketers looking to successfully introduce new green products should position them broadly in the market place so they are not just appealing to a small green niche market. The location must also be consistent with the image you want to project and allow you to project your own image rather than being dominated or compromised by the image of venue. The location must differentiate you from the competitors. This can be achieved by in-store promotions and visually appealing displays or using recycled materials to emphasize the environmental and other benefits. PROMOTION Promoting products and services to target markets include paid advertising, public relations, sales promotions, direct marketing and on-site promotions. Smart green marketers will be able to reinforce environmental credibility by using sustainable marketing and communication tools and practices. For example, many companies in the financial industry are providing electronic statements by email; e-marketing is rapidly replacing more traditional marketing methods and printed materials can be produced using recycled materials and efficient processes such as waterless printing. Retailers, for example are recognizing the value of alliances with other companies, environmental groups and research organizations. When promoting their environmental commitment to reduce the use of plastic bags and promote their green commitment, some retailers sell shopping bags and promote their green commitments. Moving Towards Green Marketing The era of green marketing has begun. It has already been granted wide acceptance by all stakeholders. However, there is a need to lay down the standards and practices, in order to bring in objectivity in the judgment of various national and international agencies. This will not only encourage the activities of green marketing but shall also provide the much needed level playing fields to all. PRESENT TRENDS IN GREEN MARKETING IN INDIA[6] . Ø Organizations Perceive Environmental marketing to be an Opportunity that can be used to achieve its objectives. Firms have realized that consumers prefer products that do not harm the natural environment as also the human health. Firms marketing such green products are preferred over the others not doing so and thus develop a competitive advantage, simultaneously meeting their business objectives. Ø Organizations believe they have a moral obligation to be more socially responsible. This is in keeping with the philosophy of CSR which has been successfully adopted by many business houses to improve their corporate image. Firms in this situation can take two approaches: †¢ Use the fact that they are environmentally responsible as a marketing tool. †¢ Become responsible without prompting this fact. . Ø Governmental Bodies are forcing Firms to Become More Responsible In most cases the government forces the firm to adopt policy which protects the interests of the consumers. It does so in following ways: †¢ Reduce production of harmful goods or by -products †¢ Modify consumer and industrys use and /or consumption of harmful goods; or †¢ Ensure that all types of consumers have the ability to evaluate the environmental composition of goods . Ø Competitors Environmental Activities Pressure Firms to change their Environmental Marketing Activities In order to get even with competitors claim to being environmentally friendly, firms change over to green marketing. Result is green marketing percolates entire industry. . Ø Cost Factors Associated With Waste Disposal or Reductions in Material Usage Forces Firms to Modify their Behavior With cost cutting becoming part of the strategy of the firms it adopts green marketing in relation to these activities. It may pursue these as follows: †¢ A Firm develops a technology for reducing waste and sells it to other firms. †¢ A waste recycling or removal industry develops. LITERATURE REVIEW 1. GOLDEN GOOSE OR WILD GOOSE? THE HUNT FOR THE GREEN CONSUMER This paper tries to provide insight by discarding the socio-demographic and personality-based influences that have been the prime research focus for the last 20 years Instead, it follows the example of other researchers looking at the importance of situational factors relating to the purchase itself. The green purchase perception matrix brings together two of the factors that have most often shown a positive link with green purchase behaviour in academic research perceived consumer effectiveness (PCE) and cost/ benefit trade-offs. The consumer will remain central to the greening of business for two very important reasons. Firstly, the consumption undertaken by private households accounts for a large proportion of the economys environmental impact . Secondly, consumption must also form part of the solution within free market economies in which consumer sovereignty is enshrined, and where the majority of companies profess to have a marketing orientation. However, continuing within the conventional marketing paradigm (and with a hunting mentality of identifying and targeting the green consumer with bait, traps and a little camouflage) is unlikely to create significant progress towards sustainability. Perhaps more importantly companies need to create the right habitat in which green consumption can thrive. Instead of acting as hunters, aggressively trying to benefit from the emergence of green consumers by targeting them, they could act more like gamekeepers who nurture and facilitate growth in the population of green consumers. This can be achieved by boosting consumer confidence and by reducing the level of compromise they must make through openness, the provision of full information and consumer choice, environmentally realistic pricing and the development of innovative clean technology solutions. A CONTENT ANALYSIS OF ENVIRONMENTAL ADVERTISING CLAIMS: A MATRIX METHOD APPROACH This study demonstrates that environmental advertising is not a monolithic phenomenon. Certain types of claims posed among environmental a dare more susceptible to consumer confusion and perceptions of deception. Advertisers would be well advised to pay particular attention to these types claims, particularly in light of the recent FTC directives. In their efforts to jump on the green bandwagon, advertisers should be sensitized to the fact that image claims may be a specific problem area Care should be taken in developing and pretest in environmental ads that rely on such claims and efforts to monitor consumer response to them should made. Ultimately, applying the matrix that we have developed here may help to identify such shortcomings with environmental advertising claims and direct attention to potential remedies. They suggest that particular consumer attitudes are related to the propensity to buy green, but the relations are qualified somewhat by gender and by the nature of the green buying behavior.Making a special effort to buy green is unrelated to impulse buying and brand loyalty. In terms of the communication variables, persons making a special effort to buy green found magazines more interesting than television and indicated they would not buy a brand whose advertising they dislike. As expected, it was found predictor-criterion relationship differences between the two green buying variables. One criterion variable (making a special effort to buy green) taps a general interest in buying green. The other criterion variable (switching brands to buy green, even at the expense of product effectiveness) is more specific and more stringent in terms of greenness in that it provides more constraints and introduces a salient cost. The results indicate that, across genders, the consumer variables do a better job of predicting the variance in the former criterion than that in the latter criterion.. The results show that the green consumer has an interest in new products, is an information seeker, and talks with others about products. Additionally, green consumers consider themselves opinion leaders, and hence may provide word-of-mouth information that other consumers respect. The green consumer is also a careful shopper, not prone to impulse buying, and pays attention to pr ice, so advertisers must consider those issues as well. The results suggest that if companies do succeed in attracting green-oriented consumers, they will have to continue working to keep them. The lack of brand loyalty on the part of green consumers (in comparison with those less green), coupled with their propensity to actively seek information, implies that the green consumer will always be looking for new products. Although the environmental movement has been underway for years, green marketing seems to be a relatively new phenomenon. Marketers are typically not slow to adopt an innovation, but green marketing is in some ways fraught with peril Certainly, marketers are getting mixed signals—from polls, from research results, an d from sales figures. Common sense suggests that the use of green appeals by marketers can be productive. However, recent research on green marketing and the green consumer, indicates that the concepts will not be easy to apply. Green consumers must be treated carefully and, in particular, with respect. They appear to be careful and thoughtful consumers. Treated fairly, they may be receptive; treated poorly, they may not only switch brands, but also take others with them. To be able to more effectively market green products and ideas, marketers need to segment their market and use differentiated marketing approach for each target segment. Socio-demographic characteristics have been widely used in the past researches as a basis of market segmentation and profiling of green consumers. The present study explores the usefulness of select socio-demographic characteristics in capturing variations present in the environmental consciousness of the consumers in India. Both the univariate and multivariate analyses point to the presence of statistically significant linkages between the socio-demographic characteristics and different environmental consciousness constructs, thus implying potential usefulness of these characteristics in profiling different segments of green consumers an devolving accordingly the green marketing strategies and environmental campaigns as capable of more effectively reaching and influencing the chosen green consumer segments. The study has employed a more elaborate conceptualization of the environmental consciousness construct. Regarding age,. A negative relationship of age with WSE, IISB and IIO signifies a greater tendency among the relatively younger persons (viz., those belonging to the age groups 18-24 years and 24-35 years) to actively search for the environmentally friendly products, gather environment related information and influence others to behave in an environmentally responsible manner. These persons, however, appear less enthusiastic about choosing the least polluting products (ICLPP). This might be due to their lower purchasing power for being mainly either students or unemployed at this stage in their family life cycle. Education level is found to be significantly related with the environmental consciousness in respect to five environmental consciousness measures. A significantly positive relationship of the education level with environmental knowledge (EK), incidence and frequency of conservation behavior (ICB and FCB) and frequency of environmental activism implies greater environmental consciousness among the relatively more educated persons. Because of their higher intellectual orientation, these persons are able to better understand and appreciate green ideas and green claims made by the green marketers. Education level is, however, found to be significantly but negatively related with the respondents willingness to seek environmentally friendly products (WSE). The variable â€Å"typeofschoolattended† emerges as a significant correlate of the environmental consciousness for as many as six constructs. Notwithstanding being less articulate and extrovert, persons with the government school background exhibit a higher level of environmental consciousness in terms of environmental awareness (AEIP) as well as willingness to seek environmentally friendly products (WSE), incidence of seeking information (IISB), conserving resources (ICB) and choosing the least polluting products (ICLPP). The only aspect where they lag behind persons with the private school background is frequency of environmental activism (FEA), probably due to being less extrovert and gregarious than their counterpart. Income also emerges as an important correlate of environmental consciousness. Persons with higher income are also high in their awareness of the environmental regulations (AER),willingness to pay for the environmentally friendly products (WPM), incidence of information seeking behavior (IISB) and choosing the least polluting products (ICLPP). But in terms of their involvement with the activities relating to influencing others (IIO) and conserving the environment (FCB), they turn out to be poor performers. Macbeth Illness Motif

PD:3 Macbeth Motif: Illness Motif statement: Shakespeare utilizes the motif of illness to highlight how Macbeth’s thirst for power has led Scotland into tyranny. Illness symbolizes the decay of Macbeth’s morals along with the fall of Scotland. Quotations with explanations: 1. Scene 4 Act 3 Lines 169-181 Context: Malcolm and Macduff are speaking; the doctor enters and reports on the well-being of a cured patient. Macduff asks about the illness, Malcolm explains that the English King has healing powers. Explanation: This depiction of the king of England stands in an obvious contrast to descriptions of Macbeth. The king is shown to be one of the best of men, illustrated by his healing. His â€Å"heavenly gift of prophecy† allows his country to prosper. However, Macbeth’s forsight has led into a dark cave that it cannot escape from until Macbeth is dead. â€Å"Sundry blessings† hang around the English throne, while curses hang around the Scottish. 2. Sce ne 5 Act 4 Lines 62-64 Context: Just after Macbeth receives news of the soldiers marching against him, the doctor delivers a short but horrendous report of the condition of Macbeth’s wife.Macbeth compares the shambled state of his country to the unfortunate state of his wife. Explanation: In asking the doctor for a cure for Scotland, Macbeth displays that he finally notices the consequences of his actions. However, he is not admitting to his own actions being the cause of his country’s â€Å"disease. † This is said just after Macbeth has been told of the army marching toward the castle, and of the desertion of his nobles, which illuminates that the real illness in the country is him, Macbeth.By asking the doctor to purge Scotland of her disease, Macbeth is really asking the doctor to cure Scotland by removing him. 3. Act 3 Scene 4 Lines 51-55 Context: Lennox and another character are speaking of the political terror in Scotland, and Lennox comments on the desire for Macduff to return soon and save Scotland from the tyranny of Macbeth. Explanation: Before Macbeth’s thirst for power overcame his good nature, these two lords were close followers of Macbeth and obeyed his every command. Now that Macbeth has been utterly corrupted, Lennox is praying that the English rescue Scotland from their tyrant of a leader. Lennox describes Macbeth as having â€Å"a hand accursed† showing that any respect that he had for him has now vanished. Macbeth has shed all of his supporters and has put the country that he once longed to rule in terrible suffering. Quotes with context only: 1. Act 5 Scene 1 Lines 75-77 Context: The doctor sees firsthand the sleepwalking, and talking, and crying that Lady Macbeth does while asleep and says why he thinks she is doing it. . He dwells on how even through the pain that he had run Duncan through with his dagger, at least Duncan is able to rest, unlike him.

The Church Of The Patristic Church - 1854 Words

Christology was a central debate in the patristic church. The discussion about Jesus Christ was prevalent throughout the church for centuries and resulted in church councils that produced creeds for the whole church to stand upon as a foundation for Christological orthodoxy. Even with these orthodox creeds, the debate did not end there. The contemporary church, just like the patristic church, has found itself fighting to hold to an orthodox Christology. Just as it was in the patristic church the contemporary debate proceeds from a desire to be true to the teaching of the faith handed down from the apostles. The issue for the contemporary Church is not so different from the patristic church. The Christian Church in Italy The Christian Church in Italy, also known as CCI, identify as Christian. They profess Jesus Christ as redeemer and savior in their statement of faith. They are strict monotheists while still professing Jesus as the Son of God, the Christ, prophet, and savior of all mankind. They do not deny the virgin birth and claim that they believe in Christ’s atoning work of salvation upon the cross. These are orthodox beliefs and diversions from Spirit Adoptionist teachings. CCI is clear about their belief in the full humanity of Jesus but when it comes to his divinity they are either silent or they state that they are only open to a dialogue about it. â€Å"As we have said, all the scripture presents a Christ man.
